On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) system is one of the most important applications of data warehouse system. It is specially designed to support complex analysis and is focused on providing support for decision-makers and senior management personnel. The system can conduct query processing involving large volumes of data quickly and flexibly based on the requirements of analysts, and present the query results to decision-makers in an intuitive and easy-to-understand manner to help the decision-makers accurately grasp the portraits of candidates, understand the specific needs and then work out proper plans.
The main feature of the OLAP system is that it can directly imitate users’ multi-angle thinking modes and build multi-dimensional or multi-angle data models for users in advance. IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second), the key index of the OLAP system, is a performance measurement used to characterize computer storage devices. It means the number of reads and writes per second.
